I woke up this morning to find my gifts on the table in the dining room already. A very high-quality foot bath from my eldest son and many beautiful flowers from my younger son and daughter-in-law. I checked my WhatsApp and found the usual “Happy Mother’s day. I love you mom” from my family and the “I will see you at dinner later”.

Our designers are constantly inspired by a myriad of cultures, sub-cultures, and styles from all around the world. Nellie and Victor were influenced by the Steampunk sub-culture, Alex by the So-Cal lifestyle, and April by Easter traditions. Our design team wanted to bring you a doll perfect for Springtime, one that encapsulates the vibes of chilling out in a blossom-studded meadow or petting a fluffy white lamb. Therefore, our team looked toward the fashion of tranquil hippy and bohemian traditions.
Inspired by Bohemian cultures and hippy style, Venus is a doll that radiates peace and values freedom. Bohemianism is defined by a commitment to a non-conventional lifestyle, free from the rigidity of modernity and responsibility. Bohemians are wanderers and adventurers who roam untethered by the trappings of work or wealth. They focus on musical, artistic, literary, and spiritual pursuits above all else. Venus invites all to relax into a more bohemian way of life.

After the success of our Freya Flower Fairy doll, we have once again collaborated with Jana Blažková of Wixana’s Doll’s House. Jana is an outstanding artist from the Czech Republic who has made many beautiful dolls.
This time, we have collaborated with Jana to bring you four brand new dolls, each to be released every quarter of 2022. The first doll in the series is Josephine, our romantic Princess!
The collaboration began last year, in august of 2021. After seeing Jana’s incredible artwork and Freya Flower Fairy, our fans were clamouring for more outfits designed by her. At the same time, our Chief Designer Ruby Ho was working on a totally unique head sculpt, that she thought would be perfect for Jana to paint. Therefore, the decision was made to bring these elements together to create four special dolls.

In 2021 the Ruby Red Fashion Friends brand continued to grow and evolve. This was the year a completely new core line was introduced: the Siblies. The design team wanted to create a companion doll for the original Fashion Friends. The Siblies are the younger siblings of the Fashion Friends and are a little more compact and portable, standing at 12” rather than 14.5”. These new dolls offer a more playful and childlike perspective on the original Fashion Friend doll.

Following the release, and ensuing popularity, of the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls in 2019, the team started work on the next three core line dolls that would be released in 2020. When expanding the range, the design team wanted to curate a diverse selection of dolls, and therefore created dolls with different features, backgrounds, and styles.

In 2019, the Ruby Red team released their first 14.5 inch dolls influenced by contemporary fashion and committed to quality and excellence. With this, the Ruby Red Fashion Friends were born! The team wanted the dolls to carry inspirational messages of positivity and light, and therefore they were all given their own unique phrase that informed their design and personality. Moreover, the team wanted these dolls to be relatable to a modern audience and share in the aspirations held by many young people and adults alike. Therefore, each doll in the main collection has a back story that shares something about their diverse ambitions and drives.
